The Green Schools Conference and Expo (GSCE) is the only national event to convene the professionals involved in making green schools a reality: people who lead, operate, build and teach in U.S. schools.

When: March 2–4, 2020
Where: Portland, Oregon

Enjoy hearing from inspiring plenary speakers, attending workshops and breakout sessions and networking with colleagues from across the country at events such as the Women in Green Breakfast, Green Schools Awards Luncheon and reception in the exhibit hall.

Don't miss this opportunity to learn from and network with educational leaders, green building professionals, nonprofit partners and others who are passionate about the future of green schools.

Opening keynote: Danni Washington

Danni Washington will kick off the 2020 Green Schools Conference as the opening keynote speaker on March 2, at 8:30 a.m. As the first African American woman of color to host her own science television series, Danni Washington is deeply passionate about our oceans and science communications. She dreamed of studying the oceans since she was 6 years old.

In 2008, Washington graduated from the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science/ Biology. At age 21, she and her mother, Michelle Swaby-Smith, co-founded The Big Blue & You, a nonprofit organization dedicated to inspiring and educating youth about marine conservation through the arts and media.

Most recently, Washington has served as the host of a nationally syndicated STEM education TV series that features the latest advancements in bio-inspired technology and design, called "Xploration Nature Knows Best."
