Come and be inspired

At GSCE, the nation’s education, environmental and business leaders motivate, inspire and teach our community. Rick Fedrizzi, CEO and founding chair of USGBC, will take the stage at the opening plenary and Dr. Chris Emdin, associate professor of science at Columbia University and creator of the #HipHopEd movement, will keynote GSCE’s closing session. Don’t forget to check out the GSCE Master Series speakers, who will inspire attendees to channel their creativity, grit and resilience in pursuit of better schools for their communities.

Engage with like-minded leaders

GSCE offers a variety of education sessions, work groups and summits that address some of the biggest challenges facing sustainability in education today, such as providing high-performing places to learn, improving the health and well-being of students, and promoting eco-literacy among students of all ages.

  • Pre-conference sessions: Curated workshops and tours of schools in the Pittsburgh area give attendees a chance to grow their knowledge about sustainability issues in schools.
  • Student Summit: This summit will educate, empower and inspire middle and high school students as the next generation of leaders.
  • Solutions Summits: These summits provide a deep dive into the challenges and solutions that advance the mission of green schools for all within this generation.
  • Speed Greening Sessions: Short and sweet presentations will keep participants moving and engaged.

Forge relationships and discover new products and services

At the GSCE Exhibit Hall, attendees can find new products and services vital to their careers, while also connecting with vendors and providers. It's a must-see destination, showcasing the best of the green schools industry. Posters throughout the hall will reflect work, research and other special projects. Attendees are encouraged to engage with these innovators and their presentations.
